rated 3 out of 5 No Warranty
by C. John from Tampa, FL, 2010-07-20

I purchased a Nat Geo watch about 18 months ago (NG750GKBS). It worked perfectly, until I went snorkeling. It was only submerged in about 4 feet of water, but water got inside. The watch still tells time, but the LCD and all those functions are ruined. I attempted to contact the warranty company, before just shipping it off with $10 to be fixed. I was told the company that makes these watches is out of business and they no longer have any replacement parts for these watches, regardless of model. Needless to say, I'm a little upset. This was a great watch, but now is a paperweight, due to a poor seal. I really wish I wouldn't have worn it in the water, even thought it said it was good up to 50 Meters. If you have one of these watches, I recommend removing before entering water.

rated 1 out of 5 Really a "stop" watch for National Geographic
by Baltimore Filly from Alaska, 2010-04-26

I purchased this watch as an anniversary gift. It operated about three months. I've contacted the manufacturer...no luck. My watch is Model NG-07G UBS. It looks great but is junk. I've contacted National Geographic which earns money from the sale of the watches. Nat Geo gives you a phone number for a company that says it doesn't make Egana watches. It also can't repair atomic watches. If you wish to contribute to National Geographic, just donate directly so you don't waste your money.

rated 5 out of 5 Very stylish

A very nice watch to add to your collection.Reality check, most watch warrenties are worthless, not just this watch but all watches. If you have trouble take it to a decent jewerly store and let them check it out. This watch has a beautiful blue backgound and any person would be proud to own.National Geographic net proceeds support vital exploration.conservation, research, and education programs.Excellent value for the price Amazon is asking.Just wait till you see the nice box it arrives in.

rated 1 out of 5 Looks Nice but Doesn't Work
by Y. Totah , 2008-10-30

Is a heavy watch and looks nice which indicates that it has quality to it. The manufacturer is Egana of Switzerland (America) Corporation
phone # 1-800-542-6222 and it has a two-year warranty which does not cover the shipping or the batteries, cases, dials, crowns, crystals, clasp, bracelets, or straps. Basically nothing is covered except the time mechanism inside the case.
I set the time and the date and left the watch in the box it came in, three weeks later the watch is dead and the date indicated about 11 days ago. It may only be the battery but why take a chance.
If I change the battery myself I may void the warranty, and it would cost me a lot to ship it to the manufacturer for warranty service, and batteries are not covered.
Don't buy National Geographic Watches as made by Egana of Switzerland (America) Corporation. I assume they all are.

rated 2 out of 5 Nice but did not last
by JMB2 from Boston MA, 2008-10-24

The watch is very handsome and heavy. After wearing it for about a week or two it stopped working. Maybe it was the battery or another problem but I had to return it as it did not look like something I could repair myself. I opted not to have it replaced and will look for another watch. If it continued to run it would have been a very nice item to have.
